Chinese visitors spent more in the US in 2016 than those from other countries, according to areport from the US Commerce Department.

美国商务部日前发布的一份报告称，2016年，中国游客在美国的消费数额在所有国家的游客中排名第一。

It shows that the 2.97 million Chinese who visited the US in 2016 spent 33 billion dollars withthe number of visitors up 15% and spending up 9% from 2015.

报告显示，2016年到访美国的中国游客达297万，消费支出330亿美元，游客数量同比增加15%，消费支出同比增加9%。

The US has had 13 consecutive years of growth in arrivals from China, 12 of which were double-digit growth.

到访美国的中国游客数量已连续13年增长，其中有12年实现了两位数增长。

While the number of Chinese visitors increased, overall arrivals in the US decreased by 2% in 2016 and visitor spending dropped by 1%.

The report put China at the top in visitor spending, followed by Canada, Mexico, Japan, the UKand India.

But Chinese visitor arrivals ranked fifth, trailing Canada, Mexico, the UK and Japan.

In all, 75.6 million international visitors came to the US in 2016 for business, medical, educationand leisure purposes, spending a collective $244.7 billion across the US.

总体来看，2016年共有7560万海外游客为商务、医疗、教育和休闲目的到访美国，并在全美总计消费了2447亿美元。
