The Philippines has banned companies fromcompelling women to wear high heels to work undera government order hailed by a labor group as avictory against sexism and pain.

菲律宾于日前颁布政令，禁止企业强迫女性穿高跟鞋上班，劳工组织称赞此举为反抗性别歧视和告别疼痛的一大胜利。

The labor department order took effect as thegovernment took up the cudgels for long-sufferingshopping mall clerks, hotel receptionists and flightattendants.

在政府对长期以来饱受高跟鞋折磨的商场售货员、酒店接待员和空乘人员的力挺下，菲劳工部发布的这份政令于日前正式生效。

Employers should implement the use of "practical and comfortable footwear" to improve thehealth of workers who stand for long periods, said the order, which applies to heels measuring 2.54 cm or higher unless the employee chooses to wear them.

根据该政令，对于需长时间站立的员工，雇主应该让她们穿"实用又舒适的鞋子"，以改善其健康状况。该政令适用于鞋跟高度达到或超过2.54厘米的鞋，员工自己选择穿着的情况除外。

"These should not pinch the feet or toes; are well-fitted and non-slipping; provide adequatecushion and support to the arch of the feet; either flat or with low heels that must be wide-based or wedge type," it said.

政令指出：“工作期间所穿鞋子不能挤脚或脚趾，应大小合适、不打滑，为足弓提供足够的缓冲和支持，平底，如果选用低跟鞋，必须是宽底或坡跟设计。”

The labor department also ordered companies to give these workers rest periods or seats toreduce the time they spend standing or walking.

此外，菲律宾劳工部还要求企业为这些员工提供休息时间或座椅，以减少其站立或走路的时间。
