Hi guys, I found myself thinking about common mistakes that non-native speakers
make,particularly in China. Here are few that I've noticed recently in my conversations with other
people.
我一直在思考哪些错误是非英语母语人士经常犯的错误，尤其是中国学生经常犯的。最近我从和小伙伴们的
对话里总结了一些，今天来和大家一起分享下。
Ending Consonants Disappear
错误一：忽略单词末尾的辅音
Aside for sounds ending with "-n"or "-ng" ,words in Mandarin Chinese don't end with consonants—
those are the harder sounds we make with our mouth. English is full of words that end in
consonants(In fact, all the words in the sentence I just spoke end in a consonant).
除了“n”和“ng”以外的词汇，普通话几乎都不是以很难发音的辅音结尾的。但是英语中则充满了以辅音结
尾的单词（事实上，我刚刚说的句子里面的单词全是以辅音结尾的单词）
Why is this important? Well, if you're not used to speaking with ending in consonants in your
language, then when you speak English you might find it unnatural to end on a hard consonant.
This then affects the way you speak, and how easily you are understood.
这点为什么重要呢？如果你平常说话的时候，不习惯说以辅音结尾的单词，那当你说英语的时候，你就会觉
得不自然。而这会影响你说话的方式以及你被别人理解的难易程度。
Fortunately, there is small exercise you can do to practice this. Take a simple sentenceand break itso that every syllable you say starts with a consonant. It's a linking exercise.
幸运的是，有一些小的练习是你可以用来提升的。选择一个简单的句子，把它进行分解，这样的话，每个打
头的音节都是以辅音开始的，这是一个关于连读的练习。
E.g.How much is it today?
How mu-chisi to-day?
E.g. What time do you want to go back home?
Wha time do you wan to go ba -khome?
E.g. Put it on the top of the table.
Put it on the to pof the ta ble.
